Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder believes she is Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. At the age of seven, Ryder was only seven her family moved from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. The town didn't even have electricity. The books on television were Ryder's only distraction to pass the time. Eventually, she was a voracious reader. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of 12 years old. In 1986, she got her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder faced bullying during her high school years. Ryder hoped the acting profession would alter that. But it wasn't to come to happen. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. In 1988, she got her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. In 1993, she was awarded an Academy Prize to be awarded for The Age of Innocence.
